Getting your export
I got several ZIP files. Do they all need to be included?
Yes, all of them. The parts belong together, and if one is missing, every memory that happened to sit in that part is missing too, without anything looking broken.
Yes, all of them are needed. Snapchat splits large exports into several ZIP files, often with names along the lines of mydata~1784250848813.zip, -2.zip, -3.zip and so on. A 12 GB archive can arrive in seven parts of roughly 2 GB each, and a larger one in more than that.
The parts are not copies of each other but different pieces of the same archive. If you hand over only one of them you get only the memories that happened to sit in that particular file. The rest is missing entirely, without anything looking broken. And that is the treacherous part: half an archive looks like a whole archive until you go looking for something specific.
We check it for you. When you pick your files we count through what belongs together and tell you straight away if files are missing their counterpart, before you spend time uploading. In the export we tested, 62 of 109 file pairs were missing their other half for exactly that reason. If you see that warning, it is nearly always a ZIP file you have forgotten.
If you downloaded the parts at different times: check that they come from the same export. The number sequence in the filename should be the same. If you mix two different orders, the files will not match each other, and the data describing your memories in one order will not point at the pictures in the other. When in doubt, request a fresh export and download every part from that one email.
