The deadline
What happens if Snapchat changes the rules again?
You still have your archive. What you have taken out sits on your own computer and is not affected by whatever Snapchat does with its storage in the future.
Snapchat can postpone the limit, tighten it, change the prices or do something else entirely. It is their platform and their decision, and they do not have to ask any of us first. Nearly every service that has ever held people's photos has changed its terms at some point, and the ones that did not usually closed instead.
The whole point of getting your memories out is to stop being affected by any of it. Once the archive is on your own computer, with dates and locations written back into the files, they are your files in whatever photo app you use. Nobody can remove them, change the terms for them, lock them behind a subscription or quietly move them to a tier you did not ask for.
The same holds in the other direction, and that matters just as much: if you lose access to your Snapchat account (a forgotten password, a hijacked account, a suspension you do not understand), the memories are still with you. Accounts disappear more often than platforms do, and they usually do it without warning and without anywhere to appeal.
The same logic applies to us. Our Lifetime guarantee holds for as long as we run the service, and we say so plainly in the terms. The service is run from Sweden under Swedish law. But the archive you have downloaded is ordinary photo and video files on your computer, with no connection to us. They work whatever happens to this company. That is the whole difference between owning your memories and renting them.
